Construction of a pre-cast concrete retaining wall concealing soil nails at a private residence in Dalry.
The original river wall and sections of the clients garden were lost to storm damage caused by mature tree fall.
The property is bound by the River Garnock which is subject to significant surge conditions and the only access for construction plant was via the river from the opposite bank. The river is also a recovering trout and salmon spawning watercourse and required a sensitive approach to the work required and the means of executing it. A SEPA licence was in place. Considered temporary works were also required to allow safe access for construction plant and personnel whilst also protecting the watercourse.
The works were completed within six weeks in accordance with the project programme and cost plan.
